Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item are enhanced by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.
Players can recycle six items at once to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items scales with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level. Additionally there are many items that can be reforged, which can boost their stats even more.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout the world as well as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the primary way to upgrade equipment. These are items that slot into equipment. item upgrading of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others give an overall bonus.
There are many types of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, can be put on any kind of equipment, and offer less than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They offer a range of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats are after the upgrade, along with any required components or materials. If you don't have enough of either, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The upper-right corner shows the amount of upgrade components required to create a particular item. The cost of upgrading increases with the level and rarity of the item increases. However you can cut down on this cost by purchasing upgrades from a seller, or trading them with other players.
Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with the use of a prefix upgrade like an insignia or rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with a suffix upgrade. These upgrades add an adjective to the item's name for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph has a range of values that it can enhance a stat, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This is not the exact amount at the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and the quality of the item you are admiring.
Most upgrade components slotted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can remove any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item that it was installed in, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards therefore it should not be considered a loss.
The addition of a glyph to an item could cause it to become unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you remove the item. You can also add an inscription on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This is useful for those who take lots of damage from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to change the affixes on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants the player a brand new random affix that is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for upgrade options, but they can still be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle these rerolled items. This will alter the design of the item's window, and allow up to six items to be selected for recycling. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than those with lower levels.
In addition to reroll tokens players can also make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.
Rerolling is a great method to improve an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl will be diminished by the number of rerolls it took to get it to the final ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective for Diadems and ring items, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.
Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's better to let people pay for it using money or food items that would allow them to make changes to their builds without spending excessive amounts of time. However paying for rerolls is not something that the developers would like to implement at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include the ability for players to change their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to increase the level of an upgrade for an item. The first method of leveling up an upgrade for an item is to increase the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of an upgrade for any stat. The second option is to boost the effect of the upgrade, which can increase the healing or damage for an individual stat. Finally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
When you upgrade items it is essential to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time the chance of a better roll will come from the glyphs, but there are also opportunities for more or unique rolls. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique item type, then it's likely to gaining a higher level.
Upgrades can be costly particularly if you are upgrading gear from the standard track to the legendary. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it has. item upgrades require crests to reach the next level.
If you're lucky your upgraded item will reach the highest level on its upgrade track, and will unlock a bonus effect. This will result in a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect changes with each upgrade level. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.
The iLevel will also change depending on the item's upgrade path and base level. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or unique item to a rare or exceptional item will have a chance to get the Enhanced Defense of the base type of item.
