World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will increase 3percent of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with fewer upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure how much it will be improved following a reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Leveling
The upgrade system for items lets players increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This could be a problem because it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with an initial level and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is a good idea, but should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.
Some upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
The item upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and armor) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon items will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state, which requires the player to pay for more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like chances to be crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to the value of the base item. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items may require different upgrades than standard gear. For example, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
